Resources to run a "Technology Month" at your K-8 School


This wiki is structured as a "roadmap" for your Technology Month. Days and Weeks below are numbered generically so you can do any month. Templates have dates in them so don't forget to edit them for your own purpose.


Month Previous - Prime the pump

-Distribute the "ResistanceIsFutile.pdf" article by Marlene McIntosh to staff. Marlene has kindly consented to the use of her article by our school communities for this project.

-Devote some time at your staff meeting to discuss the article

-As the Technology Month approaches communicate to your parent community. These sample letters have data that needs to be changed BOLDED and each instance of the school name is XYZ for easy search and replace.

-Send out an invitation to a technology evening for SEA

-Arrange training for teachers on any software they anticipate using (See week one below)

-Pre-assessments for Students




Technology Month

Week One


  • Teachers will fit student information into template and communicate with parents and students.
  • Develop project idea and share information, due dates and dates when there will be support in your classroom

Week Two

  • Daily push in / pull out support provided by Principal, VP and SERT's
  • Students with support will create webs for projects
  • It may be best to have classroom teachers work with technology and students and support help rest of class


Week Three

  • Daily push in / pull out support provided by Principal, VP and SERT's
  • Expanding on topics, research and the process of writing paragraphs


Week Four

  • Teachers will look at WORD and the ASSIGNMENTS AND HOMEWORK FOLDERS in computer


Week Five

  • Work due to teachers
  • Consider sending work home with report cards/progress reports
